At Southern Cross Junior School School we believe a strong partnership between home and school is the key to supporting our students in their learning. We work alongside families in order to enhance and enrich learning. All our families are respected and seen as equal partners in our students’ education.
Our Home School Partnership (HSP) sessions focus on the needs of our community and the learning may be related to Mathematics, Literacy or National Standards. Each term at least two HSP sessions are held and this provides an opportunity for parents to come together with teachers and learn certain skills. Parents get to have conversations with teachers about the progress of their children and find out ways to provide further support.
Teachers get lessons from parents as well. Our parents take a lead role in teaching topic specific vocabulary that teachers can use in the classrooms during topic studies.
The HSP sessions are fun-filled and is enjoyed by all – parents as well as teachers. It’s a great forum that continues to bring the home and school closer.
Home school Partnership We need your support to accelerate our students’ learning. Every Term we would like to meet you. WEEK 5 Wednesdays from 3.30 – 4.30
